Selecting a BIN when issuing a card

POST /v1/cards accepts exactly one of bin and bins.

  • "bin": "444363" retains exact-program issuance.
  • "bins": ["444363", "493728"] tries the listed eligible programs in order.
  • "bins": ["*"] permits every enabled eligible BIN on the supplied account. The
    default priority is 444363, then 493728, then other codes in ascending order.
    A newly configured program participates after it is enabled for that account.

For example:

{
  "accountId": "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001",
  "bins": ["444363", "493728"],
  "balance": "100.00",
  "externalUserId": "your-user-reference",
  "idempotencyKey": "unique-issue-reference"
}

A request issues one card. An existing unassigned card of the preferred BIN can
still be used when its account cannot create more cards. The next candidate is
tried only when that pool is empty and a first creation attempt is explicitly
refused because the account's card limit was reached. No switch occurs after an
unknown creation outcome, a timeout, a funding error or a missing session.

The response reports the actual issued BIN. Its configured tariff applies to
the card, including issuance and later operations. Enable and price each program
before offering it as a candidate. This feature does not change client pricing
itself. Automatic selection is currently supported for the program family
containing BINs 444363 and 493728; it does not select unrelated card products.

Candidates are captured when a new issue starts. Retry with the same request and
idempotencyKey to obtain that issue's result, even if the available programs
have changed. Changing the list or its order while reusing the key conflicts.
While the operation is running, the API may return 409 ErrOperationInProgress
with Retry-After: 60; retain the same key. A definitive failed issue that has
released its reserves requires a new key for another attempt.

Empty lists, duplicate entries, a wildcard mixed with other entries, both fields
together, and explicit candidates not enabled for the account are refused.
